Salah satu hasil kerajinan dari suku Dayak adalah tas yang dibuat dari rotan. Ada tas ransel atau yang disebut ‘Anjat’, yang berbentuk kecil disebut Anjat Tabung. Biasa digunakan kaum pria suku Dayak untuk pergi berkebun atau berburu. Bahan rotan sangatlah ringan, sangat cocok untuk dibuat menjadi tas. Untuk tas wanita seperti tote bag juga ada, seperti photo yang saya tampilkan di bawah ini. Untuk mempermanis produk, saya tambahkan hiasan yang terbuat dari manik, untuk alasan keamanan saya tambahkan kain puring ber ‘restleting’ di dalamnya.
Tote bag yang saya buat menjadi nilai tambah karena tas rotan asli dibuat oleh wanita suku Dayak asli yang saya pasok untuk dijual di toko keluarga dan secara online. Saya menambahkan pernak- pernik dari produk suku Dayak Kalimantan Timur, dengan ciri khas rotan polos tanpa warna yang berwarna krem seperti terlihat di photo. Jika melihat di pasar online, akan ada tas rotan yang bercorak warna hitam dan krem, itu adalah ciri tas rotan yang dibuat oleh suku Dayak dari Kalimantan Tengah. Ciri khas lain tas rotan Kalimantan Timur adalah ditambah hiasan terbuat dari manik. Harga kisaran 150-500 ribu rupiah.
Tas rotan yang sudah saya modif dapat ditemukan di toko souvenir kota Balikpapan Pasar Inpres Kebun Sayur. Saya masih belajar Digital Marketing untuk memasarkan produk secara online. Merk dagang saya adalah ‘Zamehandmade’ diambil dari nama anak saya Nizham. Berdagang souvenir kerajinan khas Kalimantan saya lakoni setelah mengajar di sekolah dan di hari weekend, sambil menunggu jualan di Toko. Pembeli berasal dari turis lokal dan mancanegara. Kalau ada turis atau bule, lebih suka membeli di toko saya, karena kami menggunakan Bahasa Inggris dan sedikit Bahasa Jepang, hitung-hitung dapat mempraktikan Bahasa asing bersama anak semata wayang saya Nizham, haha.
(One of the crafts produced by the Dayak tribe is a bag made of rattan. There is a backpack called ‘Anjat’, and there is also a smaller cylindrical bag called Anjat Tabung. These are commonly used by Dayak men for gardening or hunting purposes. Rattan is a lightweight material, making it suitable for bag making. There are also tote bags available for women, as shown in the photo below. To enhance the products, I add bead decorations, and for safety reasons, I include a fabric lining with a zipper inside.
The tote bags I make have added value because they are made by authentic Dayak women, whom I supply to sell in family stores and online. I incorporate ornaments made by the Dayak people of East Kalimantan, characterized by plain rattan without color, which appears cream-colored in the photo. If you look in the online market, you will find rattan bags with patterns in black and cream, which are a characteristic of rattan bags made by the Dayak people of Central Kalimantan. Another characteristic of East Kalimantan’s rattan bags is the addition of bead decorations. The price ranges from 150,000 to 500,000 Indonesian Rupiah.

My brand name is ‘Zame handmade,’ derived from the name of my child, Nizham. I started trading in Kalimantan’s traditional crafts after teaching at school and on weekends, while waiting for sales at the shop. Buyers come from both local and international tourists. When tourists or foreigners visit, they prefer to buy from my shop because we can communicate in English and a little bit of Japanese, which gives me the opportunity to practice foreign languages together with my precious child, Nizham. Haha).
